i am doing mid 145s on a meter that is set the same way that waynes meter was set at spring break (tps says that not me bout the settings) and what ive heard waynes meter is tough.
I have two vega 12s in a mono ported box with AG750 (750watts) going to them, and i have done a 145.6 before in pure sound's shop. Yea i know what your thinking i cant use 750 watts, but this is for the midwest street division which has classes broken up alot more than the actual db drag classes and is more fair to the competitor. I can remember all of the classes but the one i am in you can have 451-750watts of power and a peticular cone area which i cant remember.
well ive gots to go!!! its bed time here!! later Luin
oh yea dont pay attention to the 147.3 score because the meter was turned up at the show to get the street car people more excited!!

The highest I have seen in Street 1-2 is a 152.8 db. This was with 2 Diamond Mac Daddy 12's and a US Amps VLX 25, ONE battery. On a meter that was a little high. The same car hits consitently 150-151 EVERY weekend, not just one weekend.

Not to sure about that blown voice coil theory myself. Unofficial on a termpro meter 145.4 2 Shocker 12's and 300 a woofer. Official Db Drag Event 144.1 2 Shocker 12's and 300 a woofer. I have sence added more port area, and just got a new amp Good Luck LoudCavalier, but mine is still louder lol j/k

I know this is gonna sound kocky and all, but I just hooked up my New X fire 600d. And WOW!!! 300 watts to just one sub was louder than 300 watts to both subs with my mtx. I then put the level at 0 so both subs were working.... and OH MAH GAWD!!!! Now I can't wait to put in my competion box, and actually turn the gains up on the amp!!!

loudcavalier, good luck to you in your quest for "one of the loudest 12's" . You can see TBIYF's scores, here are mine. IdBL 145.5 dB USAC 146 dB DB Drag 144.9 dB Those scores are on a single 12" with 1000 watts. This weekend I hit two more events in CA. I'll probably drop down to 600watts to see what happens. My car is set up just like TBIYF's Cavalier, even similar style car. BTW TBIYF, those are impressive scores, especially your personal best of 147. I have a goal to beat you though! KLW designs

Audio Control meters, which USAC uses can be easily manipulated, even during a run. The TermPro meters have to be set before thay are used. I know alot of times the mics are checked before each show to make sure they are at least reading equal to each other.
Outlaw scores are higher cause thay are outlaw, as in not legal. USAC allows people to stay in the car, doors to be open, windows to be down, and mic placement is up to the competitor. It is usually put in the passenger footwell. Remember, real men do it on the dash.

If you're looking for single 12", I have a single RF power dvc 12 in my camaro run off a power 1000a2 that does 147-149. Last weekend I couldn't get a trailer for my rabbit, so I took my camaro and did a 147.4. I'm pretty happy for 1 12", but I very rarely compete with that car.

Went to a show yesterday 6-24,(worked on the new box 'till 5:00 AM,bring back any recent memories? ),saw two guys who make all the local shows, and are VERY conistent with their scores, but at this show they were both 1 dB down. Hit 149.9 with two L7's,1 Kicker ZR600 amp,Street 1-2. took 1st by 5 or so dB,yes they have XXXcursion! Had no time to tune,or find the best location for the box,so still looking for that elusive '5'(150+?)!!
