A big hello there from use guys over here in England !

I have been following this forum fior a while now and thought i would final join [Big Grin]

Right, well here is the question !

I am hoping to compete in a few SPL compotitions, and now the basics, but i was wondering if there was a maximum port area for a 12" sub ? i was thinking of using a 5 cuft box with 70sq" of port area, is this to big for a street A set up ?

And is that box size to big for a single 12" ?

The sub is a Rockford Fosgate 3412.

Thanks for any help you guys give me.

You can safely use as much port area as you have cone area. Depending on the woofer, box size, tuning, etc, you can get away with LOTS more, but you need to do a ton of testing.

i thing in the box, keeps under the size is permited, you donīt have restrictions. Rules only talk about area of woofers and certain limits of the high of the box(below the window. at least the rules from Iasca, Usaci and Db dRag in Mexico.
