Hey all could someone please tell me if theres a difference in sound from using pvc ports or cardboard ports??

it depends on the strength of the cardboard or PVC used, if both are of similar strength then there won't really be a difference

card board you really cant round off to well so imo i think its more prone to port turbulance where as the pvc you have a lil more control over it

I prefer the plastic ports you can get at a car audio shop but really I like building my boxes and using square ports from the MDF [Smile] ...

toilet paper rolls WOULD be ghetto i agree LOL

slot ports are fun if the box is built OUTSIDE the car........built IN, round ports are just one less thing to deal with. plus i have almost every size port imaginable ready to go at any time. i am in the construction trade so its no problem, but id go to homedepot for plastic ports before id go to the stereo shop.........$$$$

wait, are you tryin to clown on my ports or toilet paper tube ports?

that pic is the INSIDE of my box, ports cant be seen, just heard. it is not ghetto....those ports are rigid as hell and work just as good as slot ports.

use pvc ports because the cardboard frays at the ends in time and makes wicked noises...SPLaudio78@hotmail.com
