Alright my friend bought my profile 800sx amplifier for $100 from me. It was still brand new. Now we are lookin at gettin him 2 Kicker Comp VR's. He has a 87 GMC Sierra. Standard Cab. He doesnt have alot of room behind his seat. He is also on a tight budget. We are getting him the 10s for $170 off of ebay. (unless someone finds somethin better for that or cheaper)

Now I'm ordering him the Dual 4-ohms so we can wire that amp to a 2 load load each. The amp puts out 300x2 watts rms @ 2-ohms. It does 400x2 watts max @ 4-ohms. Now should this sound good in a standard cab?

Now the amp can do 600x1 watts RMS @ 4-ohms bridged. Should i get a better sub? Like a 10" L5 shipped for $144 from ikesound? Well if you know which one would sound better please tell me.

We are looking for SQ & SPL. Well he just really wants people to look at him when he plays his system.. dont understand why, his truck is loud and running a 406 in it.

Well if you know what I should do about the subs please tell me! Which would be louder? Or do you know any other subs that would thump just as good/harder for the same amount? Also please tell me how good the amp would do with the subs! Running 10guage amp kit.

Thanks in advance!

Jacob

I think it will work fine. I would build a ported slot port box tuned low. for sq tuned 30-40 for sq-spl 40-50 for spl. If the box is narrow use 1" dial rods about every 12" for bacing. Te port area will depemd on the size of the box. But for sq-spl I would use the recommend volume with however much port that will fit.

I got mine for $100 each from an authorized dealer, so they came with full warranty. Good thing too cuz I blew one with only about 250-300 watts on the pair. Didn't know about clipping then, but I knew enough to turn it down if it sounded "weird." Got it replaced no questions asked. I will never return to that shop though because when I asked about a ported box they said you shouldn't put CompVRs in a ported or bandpass box. About the same time I got my 10s there, my sister got a single 12 CompVR there. What kind of box did they use? Bandpass.
