They told me to run 3" ports for my typeR's, and now there is loads of port noise when I open up the hatch to listen to the subs. I guess I lost a little spl with these tiny ports to. Shoulda done 4" . Any other way to get rid of port noise beside flaring the ports? They are really rounded out on the edges.

~2 inches... That should be adequate since you are supposed to do atleast half the diameter right? I could always cut off about an inch off the end of the port; it would only raise my tuning up 1 hz.

for port area, shoot for around 50 percent of your sub's surface area.... and the minimum distance behind the port i would do is 4"... no matter how small of port it is..

I guess there is no way to redo the ports since a 4 or greater inch port would be over 20 inches long, and I don't have enough room to clear that. How big do they make flex port?
