I know there are a lot of people who would like to make a comment/question on the dB drag forum but can't so I dedicate this post as a secret back door to the dB Drag forum. Anyone who has a REALLY good Q or comment, we will organize a carrier to put it on the real forum or discus it here.

thats an excellent point craig. The reason he said he closed it was that they didn't want non-members posting in things like new rule duscussions andclasses, that sort of thing. thats real nice!!! I will be competing next year, but i'm not a member as of now. I competed a few times last year as a non-member, just to see if i liked it, whihc i did and decided to compete more. I dont have to be a member to compete, yet i have to be to post on the forum...hmmm.... Why should i bother becoming a member now, i wont be competing until April! I'm simply trying to get the most use out of my membership. but yet, even though i'll be competing, i can't discuss the rules and classes that I WILL BE FOLLOWING AND COMPETING IN!!! great, so now i have no input on what i'd like to see or do next year. Maybe i'll just compete all next year as a non-member, because even if i did get enough points for finals (which i wont, because i can't attend enough shows) i couldn't go, so what's the diff if i'm a member? i could use that cash for gas, or tacos, or interconnects!

Well thunder-N-light...you know what you are totally right. They want new members. You they are blocking out the possible new members from the sport in helping decide the rules of what they will compete in.
I understand the fact wayne wants to block out those that have no intrest in the rules and may be there confusing the situation. But then you have some one like me and many other like me here in this forum. I have 510+ posts and am labled a "senior member." I am far from being a spl threat under the current rules seeing they are not "fair" to the REAL daily driver/stock interior out there. SO I wanted a say so in the rules for the new year that I will be compeating under and as a member. I emailed wayne about this issue and he said that he only wanted members to post. I think I have proven that I am far from a herassing poster and I tried to help those that I could.
It is just a shame that it had to be done like this. I will continue posting here but I am not going to become a member of Db Drag. For a number of reasons.
Just my 2cents.

You guys, Wayne has been very very busy lately and I can see things from his side of view and yours. We all want our input to go into the making of the new rules, but the ones who vote on the rules are the dBDRA members. It was just getting way too confusing. If you have something that you really feel needs to be said you could always e-mail a member and ask them to post it for you. I know that that seems unfair to a few people, but it may be your only option. Just my 2 cents!

as far as the rules it is fine to get opinions from just the members, but i took what waynes said as he wanted new members to the sport to be more interested on joining. well for me ive never competed and i know what would make me want to compete. it goes just like anything else. you always need fresh ideas from some outside of the sport. for those who compete and are members, they are already in the sport so thier ideas are more for bettering for them selves and not for people like me. the only thing ive read in db drag that i like so for(that pertains to me anyway)is the stock 1-2, but it will need to be more specific then that. like, what mods are exceptable in the trunck. ive taken all plastics out and spray foamed to eliminate all rattles. i will need to brace my truck lid more, and things like that. i need to know what is acceptable and what is not.i also think there should be a power cap on all stock classes too. i am running 200 watts to each sub(2 subs)and i wont go in and compete if i have to go up against someone who is running 1000watts to each sub. i wouldnt even have a chance against somthing like this. well anyway thats kinda how i look at things.

Just a comment on the voting. Ok if I am not mistaken ballots are sent out via mail. Correct? Ok with that being the case why not get input from all those that that could be affected and then let me members decide.
Heck USAC finals was screwed the spl part at least. Making up new rules at finals that were not present the entire year. Saying no consumers would be allowed reruns sunday then letting them. Letting some get by with no front seats and others had to have them. There were cars that were made to change or get DQ at least...unlike other organizations....thought that is no one persons fault. Heck I will do MECA....I have looked through their message boards and there is no stuff like this going on. Then when all can get their snit together who knows.

I've seen a lot of that crap in MECAs message boards..Mainly about Pro/Vs Consumer, Mods, Power classes, some poeple complaining about others getting preferential treatment, etc..SOS basically..

Does anyone have an idea, or a guess as to the average SPL for the new classes. Full mod is easy to guess, same as last year, plus some. My guesses:
Stock 1-2 : 150-155 3-4 : 153-160
Semi-Mod (depends a lot on what mods are allowed) 1-2 : 153-160 3-4 : 155-160 5-8 : 157-163
These are my guesses as to what it will take to be competitive nationally. Does anyone have some ideas on this? I am trying to get an idea on what is currently out there. Thanks.

To be competitive nationally is ralative to how many drags you attend. If you had a stock AM/FM stereo, you could make it to the finals if you went to 100's of drags in a season. But the chances of winning at the world finals with a stock stereo are as good as... well.. lets just say there not good.

hey proaudio, i agree. the way the rules are until the new ones come into effect, i can't be competitive. i paid way too much for my car to chop it up. if fact, with the rear seats up and the hatch cover on, you can't see one hint of stereo anyplace. well, my cd player, but it's a JVC el-kameleon, so thats hidden too. But i've decided if if have to be a member to post there, then i'll never again be posting there. I will compete next year as a non-member.
