I have a 93 Pontiac Grand am 2 door. I have MB Quart 6.5 inch components and MTX 5.25 coaxials, each powered by their own MTX 275X. I'm thinking of using 2 MTX Thunder 7000 15's in their own 1.25 cu. ft. sealed enclosure, powered off of a Rockford Power 800a2 at 2 ohms mono using a punch impendance transformer. About 800 watts a sub. The subs will be facing the front of the car in the trunk.

I highly doubt you will hit 150 with that setup. 2 15's in a sealed enclosure in a sedan just isn't optimal for a score of 150+. You might be able to hit mid 140's though.

First off, that will not be an optimal setup for SPL. The reason I say this, mainly because of the enclosures, and because of the amps you've chosen to put in conjunction with the setup. They are going to approach the limits of the woofers, yes, but they are not going to do the power necessary to overcome the inefficiencies of the box. On the other hand, you're going to have to sacrifice a lot to accomplish a 150 in your car. The box is going to sound like a small dog with gas......if you consider the tuning frequency that would be needed to approach a 150 in a trunk. I've built a couple 150 cars....two being in trunks, and I can tell you that I could not listen to them day in and day out and enjoy it. I'm a SQ guy at heart though.......just found out recently that dB Drags are way more fun and can be had locally every weekend.
