Now I was wondering if yall guys have ever heard anything like this. I can play some music on a small radio and then play the same song on my system and hear a whole different strand of BASS. I know that it's because my larger subs can play down lower but I was wondering what kind of music that yall hear do that? This kind of corney but boybands and britney spears music always hits harder on these weird BASS signals like on the radio it come on and dang and also background music like during commercials on the radio hits the harder then most music. Has anybody else heard things like these or is this music corupting my brain?

I think it has something to do with signal to noise ratio diffrences between radios and cd players and tape players.I remember back in the day I had four fosgate 15's on four punch 45's in my bug with a pioneer tape deck.I would be pumping some bass tape and eject it and the radio would about blow your head off no mater what was playing. Now its the other way around, eject a cd and I have to turn the radio up to here it.Kinda funny

Also depends on how the engineer mixed the sound for the commercials and if the station has an eq set up and if so how much it's boosted. Our college am station had an eq, thank the gods - or else we'd never have been heard over the gnats and mesquitoes!! - but it helped a great deal.

I agree, may eb its because our systems are installed with the components we want, the right Tweeters, mids, and subs and radios are made for the masses. Every thing sounds better in my car! My girl always loves playing a new CD in my car to see how much better it sounds over her shelf system.

There are good radios out there, but the only ones that pay as much detail to design as we do in our cars are very expensive!
