Another one I just remembered, David T. Chastain (Chastaine?). He does mostly solo work, haven't seen his name on band credits. Kinda in the same vein as Vai & Malmsteen - Neo-Classical-Speed-Freak!!!

Hammit used to play for Exodus if memory serves me correctly. Exodus, for those who didn't listen to them in the 80s = SPEED FREAKS!!!! They've slowed down a bit, but are getting back up to speed.
Now if Annhilator can make a triumphiant return, I'd be very happy Speaking of returns, anyone remember Death Angel, Dark Angel, and Loudness? They were so much fun to listen too, especially Loudness, a Japanese Scorpions .

Yngwie Malmsteem has my vote. I'm not totally to date on it, but I'll check to see if I can find out for sure.
Has anyone heard the old Vai stuff with Frank Zappa?
Crossroads was a cool movie. On the way to Daytona I am planning on stopping at the real crossroads in Mississippi (it's always been on my list of things to do).

Hrm - that's cool - Yngwie & Doro were opening for Dio this winter.
Spitfire Records is Yngwie's label now. I think you can get a few MP3s from their site. They have also re-released all of his catalogue, I think they even put in a few non-US releases .

You guys are all forgetting about Les Paul. he was the inventor of the electric guitar. He played so fast, you cant play that fast. (so what if he sped up the tape)

If you want FAST, (and Really entertaining too!) I have one word; BUCKETHEAD! Check out his stuff, it is awesome and he is an exceptional guitar player who can really fly. He is currently touring with Guns N Roses, along with Primus' Guitar Player, Ler. Two thumbs up to Les Claypool for fast and hot Bass Player too!

Rock'n'Roll Hoochi Coo - Great song, thanks Eli Brings back pleanty of memories.
Buckethead? I've heard of him, but none of his music (to the best of my knowledge). But, then again, I've been on a power metal kick for the last 5 years or so.
Speaking of GnR - is Slash still around with Slash's Snake Pit? I thought I saw a streaming MP3 link @ hardradio.com not too long ago, but I could be mistaken.
Y'all might want to look into a band called Stratovarious - they have a cover of Judas Priest's Bloodstone at Hard Radio. If you like power metal and somewhat of an Yngwie flavor, you will probably like them (same with Kamelot).

I'm glad someone else listens to Buckethead (mentioned him on the 1st page)...Ber, this guy isn't no joke when it comes to playing ability...he has been around for ALONG time- writing for Guitar Player magazine in the early 90s...Buckethead in terms of skill, he is right up there with Vai, Satch, Eric Johnson- no I'm not even joking.
Anybody listen to the Dixie Dregs? Heard of Steve Morse? He is fast too...
Now, I'm a huge Dokken fan, but Lynch isn't that fast either...not faster than say, Randy Rhoads (my guitar idol)...

Slashes Snake Pit was just in the Detroit area, I think at the Royal Oak Music Theatre opening for somebody, but I can't remember who, another "older" Guitar Rocker as I recall.
