Hrm....mustn't ferget: Dark Angel & Celtic Frost. Not to mention Racer X.
I think that I either had a tape, LP, 45 or borrowed someone else's for each of those bands on yer list.
Bringin' back the old memories...time to dust off the tapes....
Oh yah: Savatage, OVERKILL & Motorhead (although, they are timeless). Early MetallicA & MegadetH. Not sure if I'd put Diamond Head in that list or not....
Could get into the grind core and death metal bands, but not sure if I'd catagorize them with thrash & speed....

You HAVE to check out their earlier stuff! Survive and the EP Game Over are my favorites! I met them a couple of times. Really cool guys!
One of my favorites, but I left them off because I don't really consider them Speed Metal. To me, they are just a really fast rock & roll band! Besides, like you said, they're timeless!

Naplam Death has some pretty interesting stuff, check them out to. There is actually a pretty cool thrash radio station that streams from england although the name escapes me right now. I'll find it but they play SOD, Naplam, Slayer, and all sorts of fast ish including Strapping young lad and what not. I always listen to it when I worked on CAD prints for class.

Wasn't Vanderhoof with MC as well or am I getting my bands cornfuzzled again?
Yeah, Kurt Vanderhoof was one of their original guitarists. He left the band because he hated touring, but he remained their primary song writer for at least a couple of albums after that.
I had a friend who booked all of the shows at a couple of clubs here in Houston, in the late 80s and early 90s. I got to meet a ton of bands through him. One of the bands was Metal Church. I went up to the club early that day to help out however I could. I ended up taking 3 of the guys in MC to Burger King to get lunch. It was cool because when we got in the car I had the first Metal Church album in the tape deck. They all laughed and drummer Kirk Arrington asked if I could "Please play something else".
