Dio, Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, Megadeth, TestAmenT, pre-Load MetallicA (back when they had HAIR), anything by Slayer, Blue Murder, Deep Purple, Sacred Reich, ManOwaR, HellOweeN (prior to break-up after 7 Keys Pt 2), Aerosmith, AC/DC, Savatage, Van Halen (Sammy or David), Rainbow, Kiss' God of Thunder, Ozzy, Quiet Riot, & of course Twisted Sister - captain howdy.
Power Metal Fixes:
Iced Earth, Jag Panzer, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Ion Vein, Doro Pesch (Female power-rock!!), Demons & Wizards, Nevermore (not quite power metal, but hard and heavy), Hammerfall, Nocturnal Rites
Souls At Zero, Pantera, Voivod, Prong (Prove you Wrong!!!), Varga, Wood (Electric Violin from Hell!!), Enola Gay, Death Angle, Dark Angle, In Flames, Entombed, Motorhead, Any compilation/tribute cds by Century Music or Dwell Records, King Diamond/Merciful Fate
Just off the top of my head, I'd say check any of those out . Not listened much to: Kid Rock, Limp Biscuit, Coal Chamber, Pavement, crowbar, Kittie, Type-O-Negative (friends from college run one of the damn-near-official ToN web sites though)

I just had someone burn me the 3 CD live in Athens CD, I have to say that its the best sounding live CD I have ever heard!!! It Rulze!! Oh yeah if you ever have the means check out Eric Mcfadden, he is not Metal (well waay back when Angry Babies was around he was) but he will make your jaw drop just from listening to his music!!

Dang, I forgot about Armored Saint, don't know how, but they skipped my mind. Definitely check them out - Symbol of Salvation (most excellen album).
Anthrax rocks, definite listen-ability.
Corrosion of Conformity - Nice band, their Sabbath cover on NIB is pretty good!!!
If you can find a cd single of Gorky Park's "Bang" - excellent 80s-metal single, decent album.
I'll see if I can't get some RealAudio/MP3s of my college-bud's band for you. They are a prog-rock power-trio. The band's drummer (my friend) has been playin' for 22+ years in the stye of Neil Peart, Alex Van Halen, and Mark Portnoy (Dream Theatre).
Dr. Feelgood is excellent driving music, same with Dokken and early Def Leppard (showing my age ain't I ).
Dark Doomage: ToN and Danzig/Samhein.
UB - The eternal head-banger (Bring back HBB!!!!!!!)

I just saw the Antrhax, megadeth, and Motley shoe tour. It kicked ass! but it wasnt very long of a show wait till you see Dave Mustaine, and the other guy I forget his name, he used to play for savatage. (not Marty Friedman, he quit!) tear it up on a guitar lead on the end of the song "She Wolf". OMG! That double lead was INTENSE!!! Oh yeah listen to some Tournaquet and some Dio, and cant forget Older KReator!

I'll be at the show tomorrow night! Can't wait to see Anthrax. I missed them when they came with Fight years ago. What all did Anthrax play? They have to play Indians and Caught in a Mosh, and Antisocial- or I will burn the place down...
Hey, there's another band- Fight.
Dokken rules, so does Ratt for that matter.
You should check out Carcass's album Swansong...damn.

Well guess what? Anthrax got pulled from the tour! Seems like the Crue's fans wanted them to play longer, so they gave Anthrax the boot. What a bunch of jackasses! Should have giving Megawaste the boot...

Hell yeah I was going to see Anthrax- and only Anthrax. It has been atleast 6 years since they have played in the area I missed them the last time. I have been listening to Anthrax for 13 or so years, and I am a huge fan...
Punk Crue fans- should have pulled Megadeth. God knows they are boring as hell to watch.

Hammerfall and Noctural Rites are two of my favorite bands. ManOwaR's _Triumph of Steel_ is a great album, "Demon's Whip" is a totally kick-@$$ song!!!! 7 minutes + of nothing but total head-banging bliss!!!
Just heard the new Maiden. Took a couple listens to get used to it. Imagine Blaze-Maiden tunes with Bruce's voice. It has some really good riffs and tracks, but not quite a classic like the pre-Blaze Bruce and Paul years. What can I say, I liked the first two albums - Murders in the Rue Morge rocked HS for me .

WASP!!!!! Blackie Lawless, man what a talent!!! I used to listen to all of their albums with my friends. Don't have any of my own, but those were fun albums to head-bang too . What was it, Manimal or something like that..... Always two steps ahead of pop-culture and more shocking than anything else out at the time (now we know who to "blame" Marilyn Manson on: WASP, Ozzy, King Diamond, and Alice Cooper .)
Was just listening to an old Krokus tape this morning on my way to work. That was a very fun band. Total 80s metal and just fun!! They did remakes of Alice Cooper's School's Out and The Guess Who's American Woman. Still trying to find Change of Address on CD....have it on Vinyl though

Oh yah, if you like Pre-Bruce Maiden (Paul D.) check out Killers and Praying Mantis his bands after Maiden.

Sorry I haven't been around here in a few days...
The Crue/Megawaste concert was ok at best. Megadeth is NOT a live band, they never have and never will be. To see them walking around, talking to each other while playing Holy Wars is cool for a guitar player (which I am), guess that the show would blow for the general crowd- which judging by the people around it it did.
The Crue was ok. The sound was bad- the vocals were a bit loud, which is good because I could actually understand lyrics to some songs that I have been listening to for years. Not a big Crue fan though. The drummer was cool, Hole's drummer- she kicked Tommy Lee's ass all up and down the stage.
Yes, I'm still pissed that I didn't get to see Anthrax!
Overkill kicks butt too.
I did see David Allan Coe in case any of you listen to country music- great show! Played "God Knows Why" and "The Real Slim Shady." He, Vinnie Paul, and Dimebag have an album coming out sometime...

Winslow: I too am a guitar player, been doing it for 9 years now, I agree Megadeth doesnt exactly do alot to produce engergy as far as getting wild, but ya know they did sound really realy clean. I cant beleive you didnt like that Dual Guitar solo at the end of She wolf? Man that part just blew me away! I also dont know where you saw them but here in New Mexico, at the new Ampitheatre that was just built and started showing this summer, all the bands just sounded incredible. It was funny to whatch Anthrax play bring the noise with this other singer but never-the-less they all sounded good. Even tho Im not a motly fan, they had a good stage show, hence the half naked women LoL!
Anyway: A MUST BUY, LIVING SACRIFICE; THE HAMMERING PROCESS. I have only heard 2 songs off that album, 1 the black viel, and 2 blood work, Bloodwork is just insane!!

We got there a little late since no one was in a hurry because Anthrax wasn't there. They must have played all of the songs that I recoginzed at the beginning of the set- like they did ar Ozzfest 2 years ago (opened with Holy Wars and went into Hanger 18). They are a good band techincally, but not much to watch live.
They played Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte (Blockbuster as in Blockbuster Music- have any of those out in your area?).
There were sooooooo many topless girls around me that it wasn't funny. Fun yes, but funny no. Well, ok it was funny.
Anthrax hasn't played Charlotte for 8 or 9 years and I was really looking forward to seeing them since they were my favorite childhood band. I still dig them, but not too much on the newest stuff. Oh well I'll keep a check on anthrax.com to see if they come back this way.
