Alpine mute roll on properly selected music is what you need to practice.
I'm sure Pete Skintag is getting mad about my posts so I'm out.
I'm sorry I don't feel the need to play in a beginners class and feel like I can do something. People like you are the reason that we cant get new competitors in this hobby.
I'm going to let Amanda compete in this class I think.

I wouldn't mind some old school Shocker 2s in street stock. I think the L5s are probobly a better woofer but the shocker2s were descent too. The rules for street stock only encourage veterans to not participate they don't say you can't do it lol

to answer question follow this link and just below 2-4 you will find the following
quote:Street Stock Division
The Street Stock class is intended for normal, after market auto sound systems. The equipment permitted in these classes is restricted to the "consumer-grade" components that are sold everyday at auto sound retail establishments. Veteran contestants, competition teams, and "hardcore" competitors are encouraged to compete in one of our other divisions.
Only consumer grade components may be used. Any number of amplifiers may be used. However, the maximum total RMS power in the system must be 2000 watts or less. Woofers with cast frame baskets are prohibited. The maximum voice coil diameter is 2.5 inches. Vans, CRX's, Panda's (or Panda derivatives), and commercial vehicles are prohibited from competing in the Street Stock Division. Contestants must play music when competing. Test tones (or songs containing test tones) are prohibited. Street Stock Class - 2000 Watts maximum total RMS power. A maximum of 4 conductors may be attached to each woofer. (Please see the definitions section for more detail regarding conductors.)
One 15-inch woofer OR a maximum of two 12-inch woofers OR a maximum of three 10-inch woofers OR a maximum of four 8-inch woofers

jerry to answer your question i called wayne last year about that and he told me its just like street class.no subs on back seat seats must fold and can not be removed.
3-9b Seats may be folded for competition, but may not be removed from the vehicle. Competitors who fold their seats must be able to demonstrate that the installation of the sound system does not interfere with the normal operation of the seats that were folded.

There is my problem with the rules. Rule 3-9b says normal use must be retained on seats. But another street stock rule is that normal use is b pillar forward only. This means that rear seats can be folded with enclosures on them.

this is kinda stupid, this will make everyone buy the same subs. i find that the basket rule is not a soilid one.

Good catch Tom... here is the listing of "features" for the L5.

I loved the L5 I had a few years ago. It was the first real sub I ever had in my car.

That rule was made to acomadte people with custom panels such as fiberer glass. They would not enhance the systems spl but are for a show or intergretion of the audio system.
