im running one battery but i have an ohio generator alt.so im in SS right?

Yes you can run in SM
providing the batt is within the 800ci rule

a 2000 kinetik is under 800ci so you will be fine in sm goodluck its a fun class

one last one, can you have a battery just for the system as long as it is not hooked up to the batt under the hood?.Say i have runs of power and ground to the back can i just unhook them from the bat up front at the show?

You can use one or two if you want, but the more you run the better off you'll be. And can you fit something bigger under the hood of that tiny car? You can do a lot better than the Kinetik. But the HC2400 will fit under the 800 cu in rule if you want to stick with Kinetiks. .

Look into some Powermasters, Odyssey/Stinger batteries too, see whats gonna fit and if they fit your price range.
