Wayne, I thought you should know. At the Sound Advice in Tallahassee FL. A dB event was scheduled for Sat. April 1st, and a IDBL event was scheduled for Sunday the 2nd. We tried like crazy to confirm the dB event (Kenwood) We were told by the store manager that he didn't know what was going on. He did say that Friday night a bunch of dB drag stuff showed up at the store. We took a chance and drove 3 hrs to Tallahassee. We pulled in right behind the Kenwood truck. They seemed totally confused as to where and when they were supposed to be. They informed us they would be running a dB event Sunday. We got a room and stayed. Sunday morning we drove up and saw the dB tower...Cool...but then it goes downhill. We registered in both dB drag racing and IDBL. once they got set up, we couldn't believe what we saw. They set up the dB tower, then Terry Floyd set up his Audio control meter. (I know you have said it is ok to run dB events on an Audio Control meter). Terry floyd ran the whole show. Every car went through the same lane on the same meter in whatever order you choose . No dB eliminations either. I asked the kenwood guys about this. They said "He is running the show" referring to Terry Floyd. These guys didn't have a clue... Well, then we realize my fellow competitor who followed us from Jax realizes he has qualified 2nd. At only a 10th down. We wanted him to be able to run through eliminations to have a chance at 1st place. After all, this is how dB drags work. We had to ask Terry Floyd to run an elimination round (remember this is the IASCA/IDBL promotor). Then he says yes, and my buddy goes first, then the second guy pulls up, and we see that he is full blown modified. What else can go wrong. they straightened that out. Then the real kicker. Kenwood apparently was not prepared with trophies. So here is Terry Floyd to the rescue again. He put up all the "Big" trophies and left out all the small ones. I noticed that on the Kenwood trailer they had this cool press for stamping out lables on the spot with your SPL right on the label. "Cool". Then when they handed out the trophies (all the same size for 1,2,3) I noticed that they had to cut down the Kenwood labels to fit the "Donated" trophies. Well for one more kick in the teeth Wayne, they cut the dB drag logo right off the label. They could have cut the Kenwood logo off. I guess you lost the toss Wayne Oh and they didn't even bother to stamp the labels, they just wrote it in Magic Marker. I would think that with so many Kenwood events coming up, they would have trained these guys. I don't think the Kenwood people I met today had ever seen a rulebook. No offense meant with any of this Wayne, I just thought you should know. Plus I needed to let off some steam. This was one of the most bogus events I have ever attended.

Thanks for your feedback. I have sent an email to Kenwood Management regarding your post. Hopefully, we'll have an answer soon.
Kenwood has been a staunch supporter of dB Drag Racing since it's inception. I'm sure there are other issues here that may have contributed to the confusion. Whatever the reason, I am confident that we'll have everything running smoothly very soon.
Thanks again for your objective feedback.
