I think it`s hard of you to say that the judges don`t know the rules because i only can say they are always very fair and correct and i believe they know what they are doing and they know the rules exactly. So you say the judging was not right [Confused]

Just because it was legal one year doesnt mean it will be legal the next.

Floor cuts in No Wall are one example.

judges are human.

imo noone KNOWS the rules. they only know thier interpretation of the rules at the time.

those interpretations change, and rules change.

we dont have the NEW rules yet. but from waynes post, its clear to me. .. "kitty hair is fiberglass not sound deadening"

just because some judges said it was legal doesnt mean it is.

several judges said the collosus was legal, and guess what happened at finals.

not to mention... its a NEW YEAR. rules change or get re-worded or clarified every year. for a reason.

what's worse (and more expensive/time consuming)..... scraping off some fiberglass, that imo, shouldn't have been used in the first place... or completely rebuilding an extreme vehicle from the b-pillar forward, because of a rule change.

its happened in the past.

You write it's a new year...completely ok...but why are world finals and euro finales count for 2006, as the follow the 2005 rule's and not the 2006?
in this case, i think that what is accepted at world- and euro-finals must be accepted all the following year, cause it count for the same year.
it's not logical?

World Finals are the end of the season, not the beginning of the next. You cannot set World Records at World finals.

Until this year all other countries finals were counted for the previous season. This changed this year.

Last year the issue about World Records using the old rules were brought up and Wayne's ruling was if a Record was set using the old rules and new rules were more restrictive then the records would be reset.

The records that are currently displayed assume that there will not be any new restrictive rules in place. If a rules change occurs that is restrictive as compared to the existing rules, then that particular record will be removed.

For example... If we determine that Quads can be used in the Extreme division, then the existing records would not be affected because the rules change would result in a less restrictive judging criteria. On the other hand, if a new rule is implemented that limits the maximum size of woofers in the Extreme division to 8 inches, then the existing records for the Extreme classes would be nullified for those competitors who set records with woofers larger than 8 inches in diameter.

I don't expect many rules changes with the exception of Street Max. Street Max was intended as a division for Street Vehicles with more equipment and/or higher enclosures. This will be clearly defined shortly.

Its already been covered, do a search [Razz]

Current record stand aslong as rules effecting those records dont change.

Rules change, records reset.

Simple.

So I ask myself why somebody is fighting for a WR if its changed during a seasonn.... Fortunately its not my problem but i would be angry if my world record would be not counted during a season although it has been the European finals.......

Normally it isn´t a problem because there are only small 3x after the world finals before the new rules are comming out..... but in this year you had the european finals after the world finals

I don´t know why the new season cant beginn on 1. January and end on 31. December.... normally you don´t have serious competitions before the rules comming out what is about on February......

Remember..... in 2005 europe didn´t have any kind of finals. And in 2006 you have 2 finals....

Additionally its not really good because some guys like the Finns or Slovenia don´t have real triple points (of course there are national finals.... but its really a 3x in a small country where you don´t have much participants ?) where they can show everything - think about it [Wink]

You build to the rules, the rules change, therefore the records change.

This is the way it is, this wont change.
