According to the rules, the maximum aggregate width you can use for a brace is 6 inches. Since the widest point on your brace is 4 inches, and since your are only using 1 brace, your max aggregate width is 4 inches. (To determine the aggregate width, we take the sum of the LONGEST width of each of your braces.)
Other examples of determining aggregate width:
SQUARE 1 each 6"x6" =6" total aggregate width 2 each 3"x3" =6" total aggregate width 3 each 2"x2" =6" total aggregate width 6 each 1"x1" =6" total aggregate width
ROUND 1 each 6" Diameter =6" total aggregate width 2 each 3" Diameter =6" total aggregate width
RECTANGULAR 1 each 1"x6" =6" total aggregate width 1 each 1"x4" =4" total aggregate width 1 each 2"x4" =4" total aggregate width 2 each 3"x3" =6" total aggregate width 3 each 2"x2" =6" total aggregate width
