Hello. Anyone has any idea about the lifespan of caps in general?? I have a new 2.0 farad cap and I was wondering if I need to replace it with new one over the course of time. Thanks. Any info would be much appreciated.

There isn't much to go bad in a cap. They will degrade very slightly over time but if they aren't faced with over voltage or over current situations they should last 10 years or more.

Keep in mind, how you mount the cap will also make a difference in it's life span . Caps are designed to be installed vertically, not horizontal .
