I have an older (6yrs)optima under the hood of my toyota. Anyway it got down to 2 volts this last winter so i put it on a slow charge and it came back. ok cool
Well it died 3 weeks ago and read 5.8 volts I tried charging it off and on for a week and the chargers kept faulting this time. after a week and a half I figured must have neglected it too much the voltage stayed the same and figured a shorted cell.
I get back from california and my alarm light was blinking again...WTF?
I hit unlock it does it, check the voltage sitting at 11.? so i toss the charger on it and has enough juice to start after charging. Let it set for a week and starts like a champ.
Just thought it was interesting
