so I have an 06 f150

dont know what the stock alt is ...

I added

jl 5001
jl3004
viper alarm (5701)
kenwood indash

to the factory electical stuff...

driving home ... notice abs light turns on ...hmmmm

then radio shuts down ...

then electrical slowly dies
(lights,cabin lights ect )

So i get home ... switch batteries and all is well but batt indicator is falling ...

is my alt dead ?

anyone know the stock output ?

if this is it what should I look for in my new one so this is not an issue in the future

sounds like your alternator isnt charging I would go to autozone and have them check your alternator they do that for free but you fix that you should be ok you might want to get a powermaster battery or stinger battery and you should be good you shouldnt need to upgrade your alt with only about 800 watts of power. But you might consider a battery upgrade like I said but I think it sounds like your alternator is bad O and make sure you upgrade your wires that will make a big difference too
