I wanted some imput on ideas for my truck.

First qustion is are 4 or 5 runs of 4ga going to pass as much power as 2 runs of 0ga?

Second question where can I get a distro block to convert 4 or 5 4ga into 2 0ga?

Other suggestions appreciated.

I have seen those fuse blocks, that is a possibility but I would like to take a different route if possible.

1/0ga wire has a cross sectional area of 53.5mm^2.

4ga wire has a cross sectional area of 21.2mm^2.

2x53.5mm^2=107mm^2
5x21.2mm^2=106mm^2

its not just the cross sectional area that you compare is it? i was also wondering a similiar question like would two run of 1/0 be just as good as one run of 4/0? i myself would guess the single 4/0 to be better but i know very little about this subject.

Provided the length and material are the same, yes, cross-sectional area is what will determine the resistivity of the wire.

Oh is it?

Resistivity
More on resistivity.

Come back after you've done some reading.

Better yet, come back when you have a BSEEE.

Thanks.
