Quick question guys...
I am running 8 amps with my new setup. I was thinking I would just use Y-cables at the amps and source..this way I just run one rca to each amp. Cuts my wire in half.
You guys know of any problem with this...
Keep in mind this is strickly an SPL competition vehicle. I only play bass.

The only problem I could see is one that appeared at a show I attened last year. A competitor was running the Y-rca's and had one that was bad and he spent most of the day tearing the vehicle apart trying to find a $2.00 part. Now I know this doesn't happen often but when you are running a load of subs and have tons of amps it makes trouble shooting alittle harder. Hope that helps somewhat.

I would head down to RadShak and buy a handful of RCA jacks - just the bare jack. I guess you'll need 18. Then go find some aluminum 'U' channel at Eagle or Home depot and make a couple of custom distribution bars.
It's easy. You mount all of the jacks (9 in your case) to the channel, drilling holes big enough for the centre pin to clear, and then wire all of the centre pins together. One of the jacks is the 'input' and the other 8 the 'outputs'. You need 2 of these, a left and a right.

Just make sure if your running lots of amps that whatever you have "driving" them can do it well.. IE.. if your running 10 amps off your head unit.. unless it has VERY low output impedance and high voltage. Or get a multichannel line driver (not sure if there's much if any available on the market) but I'm building line drivers for LOTSAWATTS and Benthebass8.. which are as follows.. 2 channel stereo in then summed (mono) with two buffers as the outputs, each one driving 8 channels of output for a total of 16.. all this with a single gain control before the buffers so that he has complete control of all amps level with one knob (easier to match them all) instead of trying to set countless gains to the same level. that's for LOTSAWATTS.. Benthebass8's is similar with just 8 channels of output but the same design..
