Basically I just got a new(read better paying) job, and after I get some bills paid, I'll finally be able to start on my new system. My planned system is:

HU:alpine 7969
Processor: Alpine ERA G320
Haven't decided on mids/highs but they will be Alpine as well
Amp for mids/highs: RF Power 360a2 OR 200a4
Subs: Two Power DVC 12's(thinking of adding another two)
Sub amps: Two Power bd1000's
Three caps, RF 1 farad
Wires,accessories, and interconnects:RF
AND LOTS OF SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL
I'll also be adding a few neon tubes and some fans to cool the amps. Basically my question is: will a 160 amp alt and possibly a second battery be enough to support all the equipment, or do I need to go bigger? All of this is going into a reg. cab nissan truck, and I'm not cutting the cab. I'm using a "cab extender", something similar to a cowboy sleeper. Take a look at www.calconcepts.com, it's called a Sprint super cab extender.

I forgot to mention that I will be adding an alarm, also alpine.

I would dump one of those caps and get a second battery.

I bought a 160 amp alt, and i have a real problem at idle. I don't have the current needed. remember, it's only 160 amps at high rpm.

Don't let the money you don't have stop you from buying the things you don't need.

If you're planning on competing in SPL, I'd dump all the caps and buy batteries. Caps are just an extra load once they get drained.

I don't plan on competing, well maybe occasionally, but I'm gonna find out at what rpm the alt puts out 160 amps. If necessary I'll put a smaller pulley on the alt to make it turn faster.
