Right now, my blzr wont start, because of a bad battery that's not even a year old, I don't think. The alt that I have is still ok, I think. Both are under warranty so no worries, BUT my concern is I shouldn't be going thru batts and alts so much. In the past year or two, I've had to replace both at least 2 times. Whats going on and is there a problem lying elsewear throughtout my stock electrical system that may be causing my problem?? I don't have a big stereo, just running a 500D not even pushing out enough wattage because my HU is only 4 volts and I'm not running a line driver, yet. Any help/ideas/suggestions appreciated.

have you upgraded the big 3 under your hood? do you play your stereo with the vehicle not running? do you have alot of other items in the vehicle that could be taking juice in conjunction with the stereo?

Whats the big 3? No, I don't play my stereo when in key-off mode however I have before and didn't have any problems. No I don't got any other items suckin juice. Just my alarm, which isn't working right now, dunno why either. I had a lotta corossion tho, and thats buggin me. I just got done replacing the battery and a new battery terminal, this time a better quality one, whereas the previous one the corrosion ate away the bolt. I wonder if getting an Optima battery would help any.

Hey Dennis...yeah the big 3...the battery hot (positive from alt to battery), the ground from battery to chassis and the one from the engine block. I have dual 1/0 AWG from the alt to battery and from the battery neg to chassis. I'm surprised your stock wire from alt to bat hasn't melted yet...

If we have this meet on your side of the water, I think I still have some 4 AWG you can have to upgrade your stuff...

Oh no...well, guess I'll upgrade those wires soon. I just replaced my negative wire to my battery, since the previous one was a gonner. I know that wire is 4 gauge, dunno if that'll work but I think you might be right on changin the other wires.

Dennis does not run enough power to need dual 1/0 lol thats overkill if you arent running at least a few thousand w. I have ran a Cadence A7HC on stock wires on my old car...never melted and lights never dimmed. About 1400wRMS 1600w MAX

Thats still no reason to be going through so many batts and alts.
They should last many years! I would suggest to get that biatch fired up and get it into a highly qualified shop for an inspection.
