very basic question but still want the solution,
after install 2 Xtant amp about 600 wrms. the light are dimming when play lound.
what is the right solution if I can't install HO . alternator because to difficult to find here.
put more BATT. or add CAP is the best ?
my car is Audi A.6 with 120A stock alternator

I would try a big battery first since it is cheaper.(that's just my opionion).If that didnt do I think you need 1 farad for every five hundred watts.Put a cap on each amp and that should do it.I think your alt should be big enough for 600 watts.

Another tip I was told from a forum member... replace your ground from your battery with a 4 ga wire. ( as always make sure you sand/grind the metal bare!!) use a star washer (locking washer) and clamp 'er down. Very simple... takes a few minutes to do.... i noticed a difference right away!! No more dimming lights.
Also replace wires to your alt ( from battery) to a 4 ga.

Yeah, beef up your factory ground first, that could fix the problem. Then, depending on your budget, you could either put in one of the new 15 farad caps or another battery with a charging solenoid relay. The battery/relay combo will be cheaper to do. Both of those will solve your problem.

Yea been there done that,YOu need to upgrade your alt. and ground wire from battery two 4 gauge if you havent already.That will be real cheap and easy.Sorry i didnt think of that.THese guys here on the forum always willing to help.100 heads are alot better than one.
