I just purchased a Audiopipe (some cheap brand) 1 farad capacitor and I was going to hook it up like this, four guage wire from the battery to the cap, then to the cap to a distribution block. The distribution block would then split it into two 8 guage wires running to two amps. The question is, I purchased a fused distribution block and everyone said that it shouldn't be fused for this setup, is that correct? Is there any other ways I could hook it up to these 2 amps?

I guess what they are meaning is it's overkill to have more fuses inline. You should have a fuse within the first 18" from the battery (Fuse 1) Then after the cap you are going to fuse the amps again (fuse 2) then you have internal fuses on the amps (fuse 3 & fuse 4). There is a small voltage drop over all the connectors and fuses. you could get a ground distribution block that has 4- 8 gauge inputs and a 4 gauge output and use that. It basically splits a 4 gauge to 4-8gauge wires. Just a thought. you could use the extra fused distro block but i think it is overkill.

Okay a ground distribution block is just a plain one without fuses right? I guess I'll go pick one of those up then.

you can just run 2 wires off the cap if you want, then no need for the block.

I used my caps as my distribution block and have had no problems whatsoever with it. Actually, it works as both the power and ground distribution! Convenient, clean, cheap, etc.

One quick question, this didn't come with any instructions. I connect the resistor to the power + from battery and the + from the cap while the cap is grounded and that charges it. Then I disconnect the battery and connect everything up the way I want it?
