my alt. is no more than 80 amps. the amp im buying (as soon as i get the cash) is a mmats d300hc. what kind of amps will it pull at 2 ohms? will a deep cycle battery and a 1 farad cap be enough?

Depends on how you define "enough". Also, you didnt really tell us more information about your battery, there are many different sizes/styles of deep cycle batteries.

As far as current, expect your amp to draw somewhere in the 90-120 amp range (at full tilt).

the battery i have now is just your everyday battery from a parts store. its very old. like 5 years. when i mean enoung i was meaning that with a 1 farad cap and deep cycle battery that i could have the car off and it not run my battery down in just a few minutes. i dont want it to dim my lights with the new batt. and cap. could that stop it from dimming? thanks

we had a dei1100d running of a stock system with 70A alterntor and standard battery.

no dimming yet.

best thing you can do is slap it all in and see if it runs ok.

tips:-
- Use big power wire, 2AWG+
- Upgrade front battery to heavy duty one
- if you can fit dry cell deep cycle in the back, do it.
- if you can't slap a cap on the back near the amp.

jaggy how did you get no dimming from your 1100d? I had dimming with mine and now have a good amount of dimming with my 3000D with a 65A alternator and a 1farad cap in the back?
