i think im going to need to get a new alt. my upgraded one just isnt doing the trick. i need 14.4 volts and at least around 100 amps at idle (really the more the better). now, ohio gen says they have a 190 amp version that will do 14.4 at idle at about half of the 190. anyone used this alt and is this true? im kinda worried about it because my truck idles at 500 rpms.

kb...this is where it might cost you some $$$ to do this.
changes in pulley ratios may need to be done. so that you can get the 190amps out of the alt. ( i.e...around 1500 to 2000 rpms of the engine, but producing much higher alt. RPMs ).
a professional should do this for you,
unless you have thorough instuction of these types of modifications.
