I was wondering, since i will have a 0ga wire connected to the + on my battery under the hood, should I have one connected to the - side of the battery too? Is it necessary to upgrade the chasis to battery ground in my setup (look down below)? Im running the amps 2 ohm mono.

Yes, the same amount of current that comes out of the positive terminal has to go back in through the negative terminal so the wire to ground should be as big as possible.

Aside from the direction thing, he is absolutely right.

Think of it this way: Hows about we sew up yer backside and then feed you a 10 foot sub... It's gotta go somewhere..... And it could get messy.

Current flow is from Positive to negative by convention. Electron flow is a different story.

As for the sub it can always go out the way it went in, can't do that with electricity

im guessing that all i need to do is get a top mound battery post and a few feet of 0ga power wire for the -post on my battery, and attach it somewhere on the car body right? or do i need to go to a shop and have the wires that are already attached to my battery replaced/upgraded?

What you propose is fine.

JC2 - I misread your post. You were absolutely correct.

I've also heard that upgrading the ground strap from the engine or transmission to the chassis is a good idea.
