Whatīs the role played by a capacitor in a system? How do I know the size, 1, 0,5...farads? If i use one 1farad cap I do have to have a second batery, donīt I?
How to choose a cap?

a cap supplies short bursts of power, like when the bass hits. in many systems, if you dont have a cap, the vehicle will do weird things when the current demand is too great, like when the bass hits. most of the time, the headlights will dim for just a second, and on mine, sometimes the cd will eject because the cd player isnt getting enough current (crappy stock unit) and my driving controls will fault sometimes too (digital controls, im in a wheelchair)

as far as what size, usually a good rule of thumb is 1 farad for every 1000 watts of power. and as for brand or whatever, i dont know this for sure, but most of the people i talk to say they are all pretty much the same, whether they are cheap or expencive. if your lights arent dimming or anything funny happening when the bass hits, i wouldnt worry about a cap.
