can anyone tell me what crossover points and slopes i should use to power a set of phoenix gold 5" zeropoints actively?

Its important that you evaluate it in-car and play with it until you find the best one.. I would suggest borrowing an EPX2 from somebody to ascertain crossover points, then crossing them there.

i think you'll find it'll be about 80-100hz high pass @ 18db or so and 3500 or so @ 18db

ive got a pioneer dex-p99 cd head unit i think its the english equivalent to your p1. is that the lowest freq you would recommend for the tweeters?

Nobby,

I'm not ultra-familiar with the ZPs, but I've heard them before and cursed at my wallet for not having the umpf to let me purchase them. However, I have had some speakers, home and car, that had their speakers crossed-over at less than 3K and they sounded like mud! They were trying to reproduce a mid-range sound that was well outside their capabilities. I personally don't recommend anything lower than 2.5-3K, but that's my taste. That mid-bass/range driver should be able to take it up to 3+k without too much trouble, which should give you the sound you're looking for.

Like SS and others have said before, just play around and find what fits best for your music and your ears.
