Can I run the MW 170 8" mid-bass drivers free air in my doors?
I'll already be working to cram a 8"er in the door let alone build a box and have my window still roll down. ('96 Yukon)
also I have a PPi PCX-480 (40w X 4) I plan on running the mids & tweets off of and a PPi PCX-280 (80w X 2) I was going to run the mid bass off of. engough power?
that power will work. if it doesn't get it for you or your sounds starts to degrade when you turn it up, then at least double that power. i've been happier pushing them with 150w, but i tend to like to listen to it very loud at times.

i've done both, and with more power. right now my mw 170's are in a drawer in my tool box. i have the dyn GT 240 in the wifes vehicle running off a us amps TU 600.
years back i had them on 125 x 2 off a pretty good amp. and they didn't get as loud as i preferred. so i tried one side mono bridged off that amp and it came alive.
and i've even played around running them in diff configs with a couple amps, including one old school autotek (mx 1300) 375 x 2.
dyn highs like power imo. that is if you like it really loud. and they will still sound good.
