I have a set of 5.25 Audiobahn ABC Components I'm trying to install in my 94 Honda Civic EX Coupe. I have the the speakers in but I have NO CLUE ..... how to install the tweeter and crossover? .... The owners manual doesn't say ANYTHING at all! They will be running off my cheap-o Sony CDX650 (Going to Upgrade to 8400mp pretty soon!). Can someone explain to me how to install the tweets and crossover? Also how to take off the door panals. I didn't have to take them off for the speakers because I already had cheaper aftermarket speakers in there. So Please help a brother out ...

Snaps all around the doors. You have to unscrew in a few places (shouldn't be too hard to find) and just pull around the perimeter until it unsnaps in about 7 places. Then you just lift the door vertically before you pull it toward yourself.

As for the speakers, just run wire from amp to the xover, then there should be four terminals on the xovers, two for the tweet and two for the midbass. Run wire from each to the appropriate spot on the speakers. Good luck fitting aftermarket wire through the door grommet...

Okay thanks I got it off. How would I install the xover.

There are 6 slots. A postive and negative for the mids, tweets, and amp. I get howt to wire the tweets and the mids but I dont get how to wire the amp. I have a JBL1200.1 running to the subs. I do not have an aftermarket amp for the components (I was thinking of getting a JBL 80.2 later this month). So how would I take care of the 2 remaining slots ...... postive and negative to the amp. Whats my best solution? I need to hook it up rite now ....

Take the positive that was going to the speaker previously in the spot (from the HU) to the positive on the xover. Likewise for the negative. Realise that with 1200 watts going to subs and a measly 12 or so to each speaker, you've got a huge mismatch in your system. I'd highly recommend getting an amp.

P.S, go with the 80.4 and bridge it to the components. You'd be paying an extra ~ $20 but you'd get twice as much power from it.

you replied to my xover question on sdforums .............. so I have 3 sets ......... 1 set goes to the mid speakers ........... 1 set to the tweets ..... and 1 set too ........................ ? u replied but i quite didnt understand ........... i already had aftermarket speakers in my front doors .......... so i just swaped them now ...... didnt change the wire ........ so here is my setup

H/U - Sony CDX650
Fronts - Audiobahn ABC525 componets ( I only have the mids hooked up rite now ...... not the tweets)
Rear - Blaupunkt PX625 (cheap .... but will have some Bahns soon)
Subs - 3 Audiobahn AW1000eu
Amp - JBL1200.1 (Amp is wired at 2.6 so subs are getting 300rms each)

There is 2 sets of xovers .... one for each side ........... so i connect the mids and tweets audiobahns to the xover ....... and do the same for the other side .......... so the xover would be connect ? from what to what ? ...... please b real specific .. as i have no knowledge on xover installs ......... tahknk alot

I just need like specific ....... instructions ....... was im barely learning on installing and hoping on moving on up

Alright, three sets of terminals. One positive and one negative should be recieving the signal from the amp, or in this case the head unit. Take the negative that comes from the head unit and connect it to the negative terminal. Likewise for the positive. I'd imagine that there would have to be some marking on the xover or SOMEWHERE on the box or manual that mentions which two terminals are used to input the signal.
Now you should have 4 more terminals left. Put a wire on the negative terminal for the tweeter and run it to the negative on the tweeter itself (may require a banana plug which is usually packed with a set). Likewise with the positive for the tweeter.
Now all that's left is the mid. Do the same as you did with the tweeter.
