I know if I had 7k in a set of speakers I would swear up and down that they are sent from the heavens.
I've heard the reference line and they are good speakers, they just cost about 6000 dollars too much. The other lines are good as well, but I think that there are better out there.

the Rainbow Pro line Retail for $750 or less. which the sound and performance is very comparable to Focal Utopia. This is price is too much??
Rainbow has One line- Reference- that cost $7000.00.
the rest of their line is extremely affordable and sounds really nice.
but like with any speakers, let your ears decide.
but Rainbow has a much larger line , than just the References.
exactly
man...looks like i'm the major contributor in this post ...hehehe

Rainbows are great quality speakers. They're not nearly as shrill on the highes as the utopias are. So they're not as good for the ear bleeding highes, but I like my music to actually sound like it should coming from a studio. Well balanced and clear, and the Rainbows do it quiet well. (But the reference line better beable to suck me and f*ck me for 7G's!!!! )

A very good unbiased and recent back-to-back comparison ( http://forum.soundillusions.net/showthread.php?s=326517967f72e22292a5a4a81b2bc7fd&threadid=14678&highlight=rainbow )between the Rainbows, DD 6.5s, and Scan Speak mids showed the Rainbows to have both more bass output and a smoother response (this was from the Pro 265-P3 components that can be had for $530 authorized from www.ampmanaudio.com FYI). Also the Rainbow tweeter is smoother than a baby's ass and can still get VERY loud to keep up with whatever bass you have. All in all it's probably the best components I have ever heard and are very tailored to the sound I like. They pretty much reproduce music the way it was recorded. Nice and loud when it's meant to be and laid back when it's supposed to be as well. Out of all the component names thrown around in this post I'd go Rainbows over all with the Dyns in a close second.

We can hook up and you can hear a set of 6.5" Rainbow Pro components and let your ears decide. Just a thought (email is at top of post, make subject clear you're from TermPro becuse I delete the junk/unknown, if you wanna meet sometime).

IMO NO component system is worth $7Gs, but the Rainbow Pros for $530 for the two way and a little more for the three way are very reasonably priced for the quality and sound you get. The only other thing that comes close IMO is the Dyns, JL XRs in the right install, MB Quarts QSDs, and a Focal mid and crossover with that ONE set of tweeters that are amazing and cost like $700 per tweeter (the TLR I think it is). But as a preassembled kit, it doesn't get any better than the Rainbow Pros IMO.

the problem with the dd mids is that they need an enclosure, its obvious IB isn't their strong suit

I like all that gear except the JL's IMO are not in that bracket. I have not heard the rains as of yet but hear the pros are a remarkable set. I have heard the ADS 3 series which lack midbass, the dyns are smooth which lack output but are smooth. The Utopias are outstanding and compare them with the Chameleons. Thats why i have them!! anyways it's always tough picking a set. It took me 4 months to choose mine and luckily got to hear those sets mentioned in kicks.
Good Luck
