when putting an amp on each coil, how do you go about matching their gains so that each coil is getting the same amount of power? Do the gains have to be EXACTLY the same or is there a little room for error?

i would say there is a little room for error, but not much. you dont want one coil working a lot harder than the other. will be bad news in no time.
