i just got done building a 4 cube after displacement box for it mostly for daily driving 43.5 sq of port. i was thinking of 2 jbls, not because im a huge jbl fan, but these subs have 1.4 dual ohm coils and i need something for each coil but for a good price. or maybe 1 big amp that could out do 2 jbls, figuring from the tests maybe 2500-2600 watts. but if its 1 amp then it will have to do like .7 or .8 ohm.

I would not recomend mixing DD subs with JBL 1200.1's. I have seen 2 cases where the amps go bad and fry because of this, yet I have seen many cases where a JBL mixed with another brand of sub works fine.

thanks for the input i will probably stay away from the jbls then, this 1.4 ohm vc just sucks to try to get amps for i dont want a 1 ohm amp for each coil because im losing power due to the fact of the higher resistance and because of in box restance also, so i need 2 2 ohm stable amps or an amp that does a lot of power at 1 ohm and stable to .7 or .8 ohm. what about that orion does it do 2500 at 1 ohm. and give me an email at matthewo2000@hotmail.com about it if so.

The 1.4 ohm is dcr or Re of the voice coils. You can basically treat them as 2 ohm nominal coils when chosing amps. So you need a big amp that'll do max power into 1 or 4 ohms. A 2000X maybe?
