I currently have a RF bd1500, and i like how it sounds, but it may not be able to handle the 1ohm load of a single XXX. How do you guys like the Concept 1200/2400 for sound quality compared to the RF or an Eclipse 7232? Or how is it's sound quality in general? Also, would the 2400w RMS for a single 15" XXX be way too much, or are some of you doing it?

i had a bd1500.1 @ 1 ohms for a while on 2 15w3's and it was fine. It never even got over warm even when i played it hard for extended periods of time.

Thanks, i guess i didn't even think about getting a second RF. I am really hesitant about running the RF @ 1ohm, can't afford to replace it if it did fry. but if a lot of people have done it and been ok, i may give it a try. Thanks for the replys!!

running the rockford at 1 ohm, prolly isn't a very smart idea, kudos to you thinking twice about it. thoes 1500s will fry up, i have seen it many times during comps, even from people who work for rockford running the amps(i mean as in working in arizona rockford, not just a rep). pair of bd's would be sweet... thats what i would do.

Actually on my current bd i HAVE to keep my gains down low or the amp will kick into protection. I was told by rockford that i was running too much voltage to it from my deck (4V input too much for a "high class amp"?) and the amp was "gaining up" too fast. Anyways, if i turn it up past like 1/8th of the way (literally, no sarcasim), the amp will shut off, i can't even use the remote bass control or the amp will kick into protection. So for daily driving, would the 2 RF amps @ 4 ohm, approximately 1800w RMS, be too much for the XXX with the gains about 1/8th the way up? Would the single RF @ 4ohm be enough? (900w RMS). If it makes a difference, i have an ERE-G190 (possibly G180) sub processor, so i can fine tune the bass boost, Q-factor, and center frequency of the boost to just about anything. SO, 2 RFs with low gains or 1 RF and really utilize the sub processor. Thanks for all your help!! Keep it up!!

I know that technology has changed quite a bit since last I was in the lanes, but fans may help keep that thar beasty cool. Heat was always one of our biggest enemies, but then again A/B was all we had and Class D was barely on the drawing board for most people - very far distant on the horizon back in '92 (dayum, it has been 11 years).

I would actually run a single amp to a simgle driver for daily driving. for comps it's one thing to have 4 amps or so driving a single driver. But for daily driving, if your gains are not exactly the same, then it's pointless. Also, you would have to get the same year amp as the rf you have now. The newer ones are different, and will act different, and not matter what you do, it will cause damage to the sub. (because one voice coil will try to move more then the other one, or vice versa)
With paying attention to both rockford and concept right now, i would easily go concept, the designs of the amps are excellent and simple, and they fixed their problems and now exceed their power ratings.

This will be your best bet. 2 bd's is the way to go. The 1ohm thing isn't really recommended for daily driving.
