I did some searching on this forum and came across a few threads saying these amps were virtually the same amp (in the sense that they do the same power)...but obviously the 4000x says it only does 4kw in burps...also says it isn't for continous music.

then the 2000x info says it's 2000w @ 4 ohms bridged...

now how are these two amps virtually the same unless the 2000x is MAJORLY underrated...I mean I've never seen a amp underrated by 2kw's.

anyone care to enlighten me in the world of US Amps?

I'm familiar with both amps, right off the bat i'll let you know dealer cost on a 2000X is $870, on the 4000x is only $675. They're obviously not the same amp.

The 2000x is 25" long, the 4000x 15". you could get more info just from calling them on the phone and talking to a tech.

4000X and 2000 IS the same basically, the 4000X has nothing to it, no SAT's, no gain, no subsonic filter, not nuttin!!!!

the 2000X is just a protected version, more user friendly, gain, subsonic filter(i think) all the goods and the wonderful SAT's!!! a modded 2000X will make close to 4k at 2 ohms!!!! no idea on tested results from the 4000X, but hey, its a US Amp!!! so you know what that means

if you are looking to buy, get a modded 2000X IMO, can be used daily even if modded etc....

next question...is the 4kw at 14.4v or higher voltage?

and I doubt I could afford a modded 2000x at the moment [Frown]

yeah it says right on the usamps site that they took the 2000X and started throwing things out to make the 4000X...There must be some other changes to the powersupply or something also that were done in order to put out more power (but reduce stability which is why it can only do the power for burps). Apparently the 4000X will do 4400wrms at 2ohms and the 2000X will do 3600wrms at 2ohms (14.7volts)

The 4000X does 4000 watts at 4 ohm mono. Go lower, and poof. No protection, no 16 volt system, no 2 ohm.

A modded 2000X wiill do the same power, and is more user friendly, and it draws more current.

I run 2 of the 4000X's in my daily driver.

From my personal experience the 4000x did quite abit more power than the 2000 or modded 2000x. My 4000x burps at 1 ohm all day long. I tried all 3 of these amps and these are my personal results from a street car with 14.3 voltage. My 4000x is for sale too. [Big Grin]
