i did it tonite, i cut the cords and spliced in the end of the other cord. yes, it works. But even with the car not running (so not alt noise) there is a very very faint whine in the subs. unplug the control, and it goes away. I'm not sure why this would be...not even sure how this can induce noise....but it does. i am going to try insulating the wires from each other more and see what happens.

I am not familiar with these amps at all....but, If the knob thingy controls input...maybe that cable you cut was sheilded? Could be a possibility. If it was just make the sheild connections on the "split" ends...let us know what happens
