I would like to know if it's hard to modify the Rockford Fosgate BD series amps to disable or bypass the built-in protection. Anyone have plans or knowledge on how to do that?

ya good question, we mgiht have to do the same as well if a pair won't handle the lower impedence that we are gonna have.
