I just bought this amp, and when I turn it on, all it does is make a clicking noise from the speakers, and then goes into protection mode. The protection mode light turns on and off when it makes the noise. What's going on here?

Any ideas how to fix it. I have grounded it to a screw until I get it working. Could it be that i need to drill a dedicated hole into the frame and not into the body of the car? I have 6 gauge wire for the power cords and the ground.

sounds like what mine did when I tried to hook it up to a blown speaker...

make sure you check all of your speaker wires also

try hooking up another speaker and see if that goes away. . a good ground would be better. but if the one you have now is clean and tight, it shoudl work for testing the amp.
