i have a pair of shocker2's and i need to get a new amp because i am running them off of a power acoustik ch2400 (400watts). I want to only spend somewhere around 3 to 4 hundred but i want something to really make them slam. it is just a daily driver and will not be used in any competitions,
Any suggestions?

Actually, if he ios running a PAIR, he would need an amp that puts out max power at 2 ohms, or for whatever reason, 8 ohms. I'm tihnking about a JBL powervalve, then It gives me the option to get another one later and still get max power.

Would you like to buy my Mtx Rt 2400x amp. With warranty, not even a year old..right in your price range 275 plus shipping. I ran it 2ohm stereo for a few days with my shockers, did just fine...then at my competion, ran it at 2ohm mono, did it no problem. Let me know

Yea, it's a good price for that amp. I think you mean the 1-Ohm 1200, which is actually only 800 watts at 2ohm's bridged. The pro's are the price and the power, which which in both cases is pretty good. The con's is that it's power acoustik. Not excatlly the most reliable. And hey at 800 watts, wouldn't you be getting the same power as are now from That Ch2400 (btw...I've never seen the ch2400, is it the Apache sereis and if so why not bridge it? If I remember right, you should get some xtra juice. What is that apache rated (umm, i mean overated...) like 1700 watts briged, so like 850 per sub or something you'd be getting, which is still more then even if that 1 ohm did kick out 1200 watts.....that is if it even is that apchce 2400, which it probabbly isn't and Im just wasting space again......)

sorry, i should have clarified the amp i have now,,,,it is a sterling series ch2-400. i do have it bridged now and it is only rated at 250 watts rms in 4 ohm mono.(now u know why i definately want a bigger amp) i had the same concerns about the 1 ohm as i realize poweracoustik isn't exactly a high end amp. anyways what would you guys recommend??

I'm not really one to reccomend anything (inexperice and all), but here's some darn good prices on a couple of amps that should help to shake your mirror's off .
The best thing I've learned here is just to go through all the old posts and fine everybodys recommendation for powering those subs. There's alot of useful knoweledge in backstock here .
