Toby,

Long time fan of LP here, Long time owner, and Ive even modified a few internaly.

The Co was founded 24 years ago by a married couple.. they were both contributing designing engineers.

They carry contracts with the US military,
and Disney World theme parks as well..
http://www.linearpower.com

They are clean, raw, and ignorant. Although the amps are VERY pricy, a used one can be had for around 100-200 bucks on EBay.

Linear Power amplifiers have a failure rate of 1% absolutly astonishing. Are severly underated, capable of driving insane loads (even though not always advertised).

These amps are for serious buyers, and serious enthusists.

Furthermore I guarantee that if LP and RF were both equaly available @ same prices, RF would be long gone.. But hey, I'm not saying Fosbreak is bad stuff, everyone should start with something *grin* ttl.

You should check the comments....

I REPLACED my 3002IQ and 5002IQ with RF and was stunned at how much better my car performed....

Were they better amps? No. Did I utilize them better? Yes. Don't get me wrong, I like LP - they make a nice product. I think they are too pricey though for that product.

Oh, a 1% failure rate would be death to almost any company. Nice that you made up a number though...

Dukk, that 1% figure is straight from Linear Power's web page.

that means one out of every hundred will die.
those arn't very good odds.
there site advertises less than 1% faliure rate. i don't know what they meet by it, but even a .1% faliure rate wouldn't impress me.
1/1000 is still pretty bad.

if RF had a 1% faliure rate, they would be outta bussiness in a heartbeat like dukk said.

I would bet that most company's failure rates are around 4-5%. Except for Soundstream and MMATS.

You guys have to realize that these failure rates could (and should) include products coming out of the factory.......

Catching before they leave the factory etc.

When SSA sold MMATS - his failure rate from them was...90+% on the HC's... Jeff? correct my figures if off
