I have a friend and for almost a week now we hav ebeen trying to get his amp to play for more than a couple minutes or go over 16 on the cd palyer. I have set the gains as low as they will go and they still clip out. I have set the bass on the cd player at +3. its set so low you cant tell there is even a sub in there.
The set up is: -jvc el kameleon -prestige 500watt 4 channel amp bridged at out of the front channels to produce 120watts - Pioneer 12" sub
I have tryed my amp and it works fine i am starting to tell my friend just to buy another amp. Thanks for any help

if you have an oscilloscope, check if the input to the amp or the output is clipping... might just be too small of an amp, had a friend with similar problem with not enough power, so we bridged his amp, problem dissapeared
