I have a 08my xa3000d was wondering how they have been fairing under fair use?
When they fail what usually fails?
Whats the cause usually?
How are they on durability and power on a 12v system?

Also how are the 09MY (black ones) compared to the older (gray/silver) ones.
More/less power hungry? durable?

Thanks in advance.

I know this is an old thread, but here it is:

The only issues I've seen with the 3000 have been from electrical system issues. I look into this stuff deeply to find out what's going on with the amps, so I can fix them.

These are the kind of amps you can abuse for years, and they come back for more.

As for the XTA series amps, they are just as durable, but look better (in my opinion). They are a LITTLE more efficient, but you HAVE to feed them. They don't do well when voltage drops below 12v. Although I haven't seen them fail from this, they will go into protection. make sure your charging system is up to the task.

I used 2 of them strapped at 0.7 ohm at 07 world finals in indy in street A. They performed great for me at that low load off a 650 ci battery.
