both good and strong amps. Prob. doesn't matter which you choose. Go for the one that has the best price and offers the best service overall. Power would be pretty similar...

BULLCHIT!!! I know for a fact that the AB500.1 is a more stout amp in the street classes compared to the XXV-Goliath. Even the XX-Goliath out performed the XXV-Goliath!!! No disrespect, but take that non-sense somewhere else!!! Now at 16 volts, it may be a different story!!!

The 500.1 really shines at 16-18v. I wasn't dogging the Goliath, I have never had the chance to try one so I don't know what it's all about. Maxxsonics does make a stout product. I was getting 6500watts out of 2 strapped 500.1's@10.5volts on one northstar G3100 and 6200watts on one NSB G2700@10.5 volts.

I am not dogging the Goliath or Maxxsonics, but stating a fact. Remember, Terry brocks had two of them. On the 12 volt system with a batcap 8400 at the time when they were legal, street A style: 2 xx-goliaths 156.3 2 xxv-goliaths 155.6 And at the time, no one new this, I had an AB500.1 and my xx goliath was only 0.2db louder. So this is from my actual testing. Not saying the XXV-goliath is not a good amp, but from my testing it is not stronger than the AB500.1. But the CS5k is!!! Just f'n with ya Eric!!! Doesnt that remind you of something Dante would do!!!

I thought the XXV models were supposed to be more efficient than the XX models. So is the CS5k really stronger than boh of those amps?

I was just messing with Eric, but in my test, the CS5k was alittle stronger than both. Not much though, couple of hundred watts.

Manny... NO DISRESPECT but.post some proof. I read your reply and all I can say is that it depends on the build + many other things, I'm sure you know this. Also,as we BOTH know. 0.2 can make you a champ or bring home 2nd. place.

Neither! but if I had a choice I'd choose the AB500.1,,,,Goliath XXV is 17 volt happy.
now if you had a XX Golioth it would beat both XXV and AB500.1
Recommended amps to use via street classes; Street A --- Cactus 12k AB 1000.1 XX Maxximus
Street B--- XX Goliaths/Cyclops XX Maxximus 1 Cactus 12k should do the trick AB 1000.1 AB 500.1
Street C--- XX Cyclops DD Z1's

Man yall take this chit seriously!! I just posted what I have seen. Let me pose this question to the forum....If the XXV-Goliath is such a strong amp at 12 volts, why isn't anyone using them in the street classes?? Its not a bad amp, its just better at 16volts. Terry and I tested both series of goliaths and the XX series were stronger. And I tested the XX-Goliath against the CS5k and the CS5k was a tad stronger? Whats the problem? And as far as second place, I am happy with that. My first full year as a competitor, with the help of all of the spl giants of the sport(Brad, James Herren, Jeff Brown, Terry Brocks and a few more), I had motherfvckr's sweating!! I am happy and proud of my second place!! CHHHITTTT!!!!

Understandable, but it felt good to me. Because in Sam Horn's poll who would win street A, I was not even mentioned in the poll. However, had one of the top score in Street A.

Alan would tell me he can do a 160 with a 6.5" in a 25th order, folded, exponentially unfolding horn powered by a head unit and a .5 farad capacitor. That guy just knows how to get loud.

ok,ok I know for a fact that Hifonics and Cactus put out good stuff, so I won't even argue that, (how can I, I run cactus and Hifonics in my van!) lol but this was about XXV and AB. so I still back Hifonics.Just call me a die hard!
