I have a question about an amp im planning to get. It is a Hifonics Brutus amp 1200D. the specs are: 1x900 watts @2ohms, 1x1200 watts @1ohms. Will that be okay to power 2 12 cvr's.

I used to have two 1500 brutus amps on two 9515 duel 1ohm. If you can get it down to 1/2ohm it should slam. At 2 ohm it didn't put out much power at all. They were very power humgery at 1/2 and I hit the same number as my 2 cadence a7's at 1/2 ohm

I also put one in my girls car on a dd 3515 duel 2ohm and it was a little stronger than my memphis 1000d that it replaced. but i like the memphis a little more because it pulled less current.

I have a 1000d and a 1500d, and I am quite pleased with them. I honestly think that my 1500 is outdoing my old bp1200.1, which did 1360watts, but don't have it anymore to comare side by side. Plan to do more extensive testing in the furture but am happy none the less. Great for the price IMO. Paid $200 and $215 respectively.

The BX series are over rated. My Bx1500d at14.5 volts is doing right close to 1300 watts.. at 12 volts it wasnt even doin 1000. If you are lookin for a good amp id look into the XX series of Hifonics Very underated.. And i never heard of any one running the BX series at 1/2 ohm for daily.. Them seem to stay pretty warm at 1 ohm Hate to try it at .5

The older Brutus series (such as the BX1500d) were over-rated. The newer ones, though, (BX1605D for example) are much better internals and give closer RMS (still at 14.4V to my knowledge).
I have ran several Hifonics Brutus and Titan series amps a .5 ohm with no problems (BX1500D to 2 L7 15" D2, TX1005D to 2 Oz Me 10" D2, TX1505D to 2 L7 15" D2... plan to do 4 BX2005D to 2 Goliath 12" Q1 soon, doing .5 per amp, 2 amps per sub, hopefully see 5-6K watts each sub)

Out of all the Hifonics amps I've worked with I've never seen one that didn't do the power it was rated to do at the voltage it was rated at. For ex: If you run your voltage up to 14.5 the amp will do more power than it did at 12, but your voltage I imagine will still drop below 14.5 during that burp. If you keep the voltage at 14.5 it will make its rated power.
