the colossus II will NOT be strappable. They are about 10 inchs shorter and should put out the same type of power as the original.

would of been really sweet if it was. thats one of the reasons im throwing my mmats out the window since they aint strappable. and yes you can get 4 big amps to work off one battery.

more then likely its because the only knock on the old colossus is its so damn big...so you make a smaller one and you have more sales [Smile]

Plus a few of their other amps have new boards this year so maybe they are changing the amp line right across the board so to speak.

^^^You are correct. The new Colossus is a single board that is similar to the new Autotek MM4000.1D. The boards are not identical though, but they are the same length. We are expecting the new Colossus to be a few tenths down from the XX 03 Colossus because the XX 04 Colossus was a little less power. BUT, we won't know until they are released. [Smile]

There is no competitor only product.
The Colossus II is a retail item available to every one.

why is there a possibility of less power with the new one and how much power is the colossus xx capable of producing @ .5, ohms 1.2 after impedance rise?

Kevin, I am at work right now so I can't give you exacts on our power tests, but I can tell you that from .5ohm down the Gen XX Colossus rolled back it's power output. The closer we were to the 2.0-2.3 reactive range, the more power we got. Max we saw was 4300 watts off a single battery and single amplifier.

Because I talked to the man his self that why so don't hate [Razz] on top of that I said it may NOT IT WILL .
Everything is the same it's just on one pcb now and because of that the eff is up a bit and people with voltage problems may see a small gain like .1 or so.

percy, percy.....you just cant rely on words. real world tests are the only true indication.

the statements you are making can have absolutely no merit until the amplifier is in peoples hands.

we'll see when it comes out.
