Just got back from going to my first stereo competition. It was an Outlaw SPL show. I competed in 301-600 stock and took 3rd place , even brought home a trophy . I hit 142.4db. I was in first place for nearly 3/4 of the show, then got knocked down to third. Not to shabby for my first show. I wasn't expecting to even place..I just wanted to know what #'s my system puts out. I can't wait to see what it does when we get it redone and fine tuned.
Thanks to everyone for your words of encouragement. ------------------------------- Kat Woman

The first run the guy put the mic on the dash, second run under the dash. I just let him put it wherever he wanted because I was trying to pay attention to the guy on the outside giving me hand signals when to start and stop.
As far as equipment....Kenwood MASK CD headunit, Kenwood 10 disc changer, Morel separates, Concept CC 1002 and CC2002 amps, and 2 Concept 12" subs (PT series).
Overall it was a fun experience. Met a few really cool people while we were waiting in line and chatted with them. It was a decent turnout...before awarding trophies they announced that 43 vehicles competed. High score was 160._ (forgot the last #) by an extremely modified VW Bug running Rockford amps and subs.

Next time go for the first place! You can do it!
Well I was in first place for 3/4 of the time I was at the show That was a pretty good feeling. For that period it was only me and one other guy in our class. He hit a 140 with 1 12, which I thought was pretty darn good. Then a couple of other people showed up and ran in the same class. I'll post a few pics of my car in the lane when my batteries for my camera get recharged I've tried loading pics twice and the camera kept shutting down.
Once again, thanks for the compliments and for wishing me luck

I would like to compete in a few more shows for fun. Not sure I wanna do it during the summer in AZ though. I was out today from 8:30 til about 3:45 and it got pretty warm. It didn't help that I wearing a black shirt and jeans I am also nice and sunburnt too...guess I gotta get a start on the summer tan sometime

Hey there Congrats. Not bad for a first show.
I loved the local shows last year and doing the high 150's and with there was the occasional EASY mic 160's. Not bad from a car with a wall that is actually driven to the shows:-)

No, they are in a prefab sealed carpeted box for now until I get a custom enclosure made. The box isn't even the right specs for these subs. I want to use my spare tire well and have the amps either flushmounted toward the the front of the trunk area (right behind the backs of the seats) or get some kind of clean and simple amp rack. When my system does get rebuilt it will also be completely rewired. I have 3 or 4 different brands and colors of wire throughout the car now.
When you do get your stuff and get it set up, lemme know how you like it. I've been very pleased with my system
