does anyone know how many amps will an Orion 275G4 will pull running at 1ohm mono, will i need to upgrade the electrical system?(mitsu. eclipse)is this amp worth the money or should i just get a cadence?

Strictly judging from an XTR800, the amp will pull around 150A. The XTR800 puts out about 1100wrms but pulled around 100A, the HCCA275G4 will put out about 1600wrms. I imagine a H.O. alt(200A) will be in order and a battery up front w/ at least 850cca to work with.

hcca amps are some of the LEAST efficient amps on the market, so i would look elsewhere. the mtx 1000d is a GREAT deal at $375. puts out 1800 watt peaks. that should satisfy your craving for bass

how big of an alternator do you have on your car? i got a 105A alt in my z-28 and i have a kicker zr240 and an orion hcca 275g4 running off it, with one extra optima battery and i have no real problems with the electrical system, i plan on upgrading to a 160 or 180A alternator this summer though
