i have a Fosgate 200a4 which is spec'd at 25x4 at 4ohm stereo, but the birth sheet states it does 47x4 at 4ohm stereo.
I currently have 4 eclipse 5.25" coaxs rated only for 30watts rms, and they break up at higher volumes generated by the amp. (popping noise).
so i am planning on repleace my two front coaxs with a components set..my question is how would DEI 3055 components sound off of 47watts rms x 2...they are rated for 80watts rms

They should work quite well and last a long time if you don't pretend you're at a concert all day. Furthermore, that amp has a high pass xover, it should help relieve the popping.

I have owned those Eclipse speakers and ran them at around 40 watts x-overed at 80 hz...and they popped as well when you fed them too much signal. They aren't meant to be that loud.

i also cross them over a 80Hz...(fosgate fixed x-over)
i bought them when i was running them off my panasonic deck... im not really surprised that they cant handle the power... after all a $69 set of speakers is probably meant for deck power, but i must admit they sounded a HELL OF ALOT better then anything else in that price range (Alpines, Pioneers)
SO anyone else want to comment on 47watts to DEIS?.....my other option is SS SPLs which are 2ohms giving me 94x2watts rms....my main question is HOW MUCH LOUDER WILL THE DEIS BE THEN MY ECLIPSES? (remember the eclipse are breaking up right now at high volumes)
